All rooms have sea view and the eco friendly hotel has been built on the wind, which works like a natural air flow system. You’ll also look out over the beautiful garden full of tropical Brazilian flowers and birds. Included is breakfast and free WIFI. Lunch and dinner are served in the restaurant, which aims on healthy and natural meals. Communal BBQ’s are also offered three times per week. As Windtown is small, it can also be perceived as a pousada or guesthouse, with the social atmosphere that comes with it.
Natural setting
The design of the Windtown hotel in Cumbuco is trendy and it fits in the nature around, with much wood and natural stones and tiles. Around the interesting shape of the swimming pool you’re invited to relax on comfortable pool beds in the sun or in the shadow. From there you look out over the pool on one side and the beach and the north Brazilian sea on the other side, with palm trees all over above.

Windtown’s location is ideal! It’s a beach front hotel and it’s on walking distance from Cumbuco center, where you’ll find shops and Brazilian and international restaurants. The international airport of Fortaleza is located just 30 kilometres away from Cumbuco. Fortaleza, the capital of the Ceara state, is also great for its pubs and clubs. We’re close enough to thrill and far enough to chill!
The dunes start at about 200 meters behind the hotel. These are beautiful to walk over, to join a buggy tour or go sandboarding. Enjoy waterfalls in the mountains, horse riding on the beach, shopping in Fortaleza and visit deserted beaches. These are just a few af the beautifull things Brazil has to offer.
Cumbuco, Brazil
Cumbuco is a remote fishing village in the state of Ceara at about a 30-minute drive from Fortaleza city in Brazil. Just like most Brazilian villages, Cumbuco’s small and cozy center is located around the main square. And there’s more than enough to do and to see in and around Cumbuco. Although in the last couple of years Cumbuco became a beloved holiday destination for Brazilian as well as foreign tourists, it’s only crowded in November and around New Year’s eve. Outside these periods you’ll find mainly tranquility in and around Cumbuco. Off course Cumbuco is also famous because of the beautiful kitesurfing spots in and around the village.
Climate: ideal for Kitesurfing!
Almost the whole year Combuco has clear blue skies. Except for March and April. Than the rain season hits us and Windtown is than closed for maintenance. The dry season runs from May until February. This season is also being referred as the wind season, as trade winds prevail. Therefore the north coast of Brazil is a very suitable destination for kitesurfers and windsurfers who love to kite everyday in a very nice and warm climate. With a low humidity level, the year round 30 degree Celsius climate feels very comfortable. History hotel Windtown, Cumbuco
Hotel Windtown started in 2001 with a kitesurf center on the beach in the Netherlands. In 2004 we decided to move on to a warmer place. As Cumbuco has such reliable wind, an incredibly wide sandy palm tree beach, sun almost every day, warm water and a tropical climate, it’s ideal for kitesurfing or having a relaxed beach holiday.
