Windtown has beautiful rooms, a great pool and it’s totally quiet
Guest from Austria:
“Windtown has beautiful rooms, a great pool and a terrific garden. It’s totally quiet, so if you would like to get a good night’s sleep away from the “action”, it’s awesome. On the other hand it’s just a 5 minute walk away from the bars and restaurants.
The guys running the place are awesome. They are like a family helping you out whenever and wherever they can. Next time, I’ll certainly go there again.”

“Cumbuco is a wonderful kitesurfing windspot, but if you want more…., than stay at Windtown, is a cute place, where you can meet great people, good accommodations, all what you need is there for you, and if it is not, than the manager will provide it.
the kite school is excellent, the equipment is great, and the staff will teach you how to improve your kitesurfing skills.”
The Windtown Hotel in Cumbuco has very friendly staff
Guest from Brazil:
“Windtown is a great place to stay in Cumbuco with very friendly staff and superb facilities. It is well designed to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere and is a nice distance from the village meaning it is quiet and private but within easy reach of the restaurants. You can kite surf right in front of the hotel in uncrowded water or easily head down wind to the lagoon.
I would defintely reccommend it and will go back.”
The Windtown Cumbuco hotel has nice and clean rooms
Guest from the UK:
“The WindTown hotel was fantastic: rooms where very nice and cleaned daily. No aircon which I loved and I much preferred the free airflow system. The staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast was always very nice and the 3 evening meals you can opt in/out were fantastic. Seafood BBQ, Thai meal and Meat BBQ. Definitely recommend people to join.
The view from the sun deck is fantastic. You see up and down the beach and all levels of Kiters showing off as well the pro’s doing down winders on the big wave.
I also recommend Onna’s massages after your surf sessions. They got me back on my feet when all my muscles where hurting.”
The Windtown Hotel in Cumbuco is at the beachfront
Guest from Belgium:
“The location of the hotel at the beach is very good and not far from Cumbuco, basically you stroll into the village along the beach. The rooms are very well thought out and have a lot of plugs for your electrical appliances, spacious and done in style. Good bathrooms.
The menu and food are good and the BBQ evenings a blast, great fresh seafood and grills. You must try the acai with muesli during the lunch hours, brilliant.
The best thing about the place is the team who run the place, catering for a great atmosphere and general feeling of chill in Cumbuco.”
Windtown in Brazil: the best hotel experience we ever had
Guest from Sweden:
“We stayed at Windtown for three weeks during the end of the low season in 2010 (june/july) and seriously, it was the best hotel experience we ever had.
The place is beautiful, suprisingly social, the kitesurfing is excellent and most important, the hotel manager and his wife are amazing people. The service is suprisingly good, very personal and you can’t feel more welcome. They give you maximum attention and really make sure that you have an excellent stay at their hotel. Some times every week they arrange “all you can eat”- or lobster-barbeques at the hotel for all guest which is really good.
I love kitesurfing but my fiance have decided it is not for her (even if I have tried to push her into it several times and she have taken a few lessons) but she almost enyoyed our stay more than me anyway. The hotel have a really nice terrace right at the beach with comfortable sun chairs compared to most other hotels in Cumbuco that are not located right on the beach. The hotel is also located at the end of the village which makes it possible to enjoy amazing romantic walks in the sunset on the deserted beach if you walk down the beach away from Cumbuco.
The other services at the hotel was also exceptional, the cleaning of the room was consistently perfectionistic, drinks at the bar taste good enough to make you order more of them than planned and the kitesurf instructor Chess was hilarious and cool. The hotel also have a beach guy, working in the kite school, helping you pumping up the kite, launching and landing the kite and so on.
To summarize this review I can only say that if you travel to Cumbuco, Windtown is the place to stay. My fiance and me will come back, thats for sure.”
Windtown the ideal spot for learning kitesurfing
Guest from France:
“I spent a great week at the Windtown in Cumbuco. I went to Cumbuco to learn kitesurfing, and the Windtown turned out to be the ideal spot. The hotel is right off the beach, which makes it really convenient to go out in the water and come back whenever you feel like it. The hotel rooms are comfortable, spacious; all the buildings are made of wood, which gives the place a cosy atmosphere. There is a nice pool, and the staff were really nice. You can get served food or drinks all day long, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays they have really nice barbecues.
The hotel is at about a 15 minute walk to the town center, where there are a variety of pretty good restaurants (try the Gaucho for nice churrasco).
If I come back to Cumbuco (which means if I manage to get better at kitesurfing !), I’ll definitely choose the Windtown again.”
Windtown Cumbuco is awesome for beginners and advanced
Guest from Singapore:
“Main purpose of visit was to learn to kitesurf (I had not kitesurfed before). For beginners and advanced alike, Windtown is awesome. Great atmosphere, great kitesurf teachers, lovely grounds directly on the beach. Rooms are pretty and simply furnished, food is good, and owners are incredibly helpful. Very sad to leave!”
This was our second stay: we will be back again!
Guest from the Netherlands:
“This was already our second stay (first in 2007) and this is a hotel resort we will definitely stay at again when we are back in Cumbuco. The hotel and garden are spacious, modern and very well designed. Booking was easy and with friendly service through the resort website. Rooms are nice and spacious, equipped with large hammocks and beanbags at the porch facing the sea. Fantastic service and a very honest, friendly attitude. The spa is a must to visit while you are here.”
I fell in love with Windtown
Guest from Italy:
“I went to wind town by myself for 4 days (even if I don’t kite) because I wanted to see a small village after being in fortaleza for 3 days.
I did fall in love with Windtown and with the people that I met there, all of them made me feel like home: the owner of the place, the guys of the kite school, also the other guests.
I will not forget the beautiful beach just in front of my room, the bbq all together, the conversations…
thank to you all!!”
Hotel Windtown in Cumbuco: A 5 star service with a laid back attitude
Guest from Canada:
“The thing that made our stay the best was the staff. They really couldnt have done more. Sure the hotel is beautiful, view to kill for, and the kitesurfing was great but the staff made our holiday. From the guys in the kite school (getting my kite repaired from a tear overnight) to the bar staff bring the drinks out to you by the pool. They are the perfect mix of laided back atitude of a kite holiday budget hotel with the sevice of 5 star.
The location is great, heaps of room to land and launch your kite, only 15minute walk into town, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful.”
